CORONAVIRUS Health Advisory

During these uncertain times it is understandable to find many people asking questions about their dental health and whether it’s safe to see their dentist, for elective or emergency dental treatment.

As always our patients, staff and their families well-being, is absolutely of paramount importance to us.

As a dental clinic that performs both general dental and oral surgery procedures, our facilities is accustomed to follow the highest standards in infection control which includes disinfection and sterilisation of rooms and instruments and following the highest standards of PPE (personal protective equipment) to ensure the safety of everyone in the practice.

During these times we have taken extra precautions in an effort to protect our staff and the community when visiting our clinic.

We are screening our patients and staff with the following questions:

  • Have you travelled anywhere outside of Australia in the last 2 weeks; and,
  • Do you have any sickness symptoms, especially flu-like symptoms; and,
  • Have you been in contact with anyone who tested positive to coronavirus.

Our pre-bookings are also being called to check their current state of health before arrival.

We are calling our elderly patients and those that are immunocompromised to reschedule.

We are working to a strict schedule trying to ensure that our waiting room has no more than 2-3 people at a time.  We do have chairs to accommodate 10+ patients we are enforcing a physical distancing environment by creating ample space for patients to sit in our waiting room comfortably.

Our staff have been reminded of their responsibilities and are vigilant to with hand washing between patients, lunch and using the bathrooms. We have put up additional signage to ensure our patients are reminded of the importance of hand washing.

Our staff have also been reminded to keep a safe distance with each other wherever possible and to report any slight illness, however small, before coming to work.

As a team we continually receive information from the department of health, WHO, Australian Dental Association and many other avenues within our dental community to ensure as a team we stay up to date.

If you suspect you might be subject to any of the above criteria, please postpone/re-schedule your appointment for a minimum of 14 days after the occurrence/recovery.

To all the healthcare workers that are working tirelessly to help contain the spread of the virus. We truly appreciate your efforts.

To the community, and to those that are working together during this pandemic. Its times like these we need to come together. Be considerate at the shopping malls and assist the elderly. When you visit the shops perhaps call them and ask if you can help purchase their groceries.  Remember to take extra care with your hand hygiene by washing your hand vigilantly and using hand sanitizer to stop the spread of bacteria and other viruses.
